Dr. Edvard E. Thorsett (B.S., M.A., Ph.D.)
Dr. Edvard Eugene Thorsett, 68, of Winchester, Virginia, died Monday, October 26, 2015, at his home.
Dr. Thorsett was born in 1947, the son of the late Clifford R. and Edith B. Thorsett. He was a graduate of Overlea High School in Baltimore, Class of 1965; Towson State University receiving a Bachelor’s of Science Degree; the University of Maryland receiving a Master of Arts Degree and Ph.D in Philosophy. Dr. Thorsett was a Professor at Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia, retiring in 2015.
Surviving with his fiancée, Elaine Tucker, are his daughter, Juliet Goldstein and her husband, Howard; sons, Andrew Oken and wife, Lisa, of Portland, Oregon, Joshua Proudfoot and wife, Emily, of Eugene, Oregon; six grandchildren, Ellie, Reed, Gabriel, Grace, Ian, and Ivy; his brother, Kenneth Thorsett of Fallston, Maryland; nephews, Christopher Thorsett of Baltimore, Maryland and Brian Thorsett and wife, Rebecah, of Bel Air, Maryland; and great-nephew Judah Thorsett of Bel Air, Maryland.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015, 11:00 AM at Cvach/Rosedale Funeral Home, 1211 Chesaco Avenue, Rosedale, Maryland, 21237.
