Edith W. Hall
Edith May Williamson Hall, age 94, of Winchester, Virginia, died Sunday, February 28, 2010, at Blue Ridge Hospice.
Mrs. Hall was born in 1915, in Tyler County, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Bryan C. and Ora T. Williamson. She was a 1934 graduate of Sistersville High School where she was the valedictorian of her class and furthered her education by attending a two year business school. She worked as a secretary for Shenandoah Apple Co-Op in Winchester, retiring after 31 years of service. She was a member of Market Street United Methodist Church, Winchester, Virginia and participated with the Winchester-Frederick County Historical Society.
Her husband, Edward Lindsey “Ned” Hall, Sr., whom she married in April of 1939 in Berryville, Virginia, preceded her in death on December 4, 1994.
Surviving are her son, William Preston Hall and wife, Maureen C. of Winchester, Virginia; a daughter-in-law, Rose Warren of Lynchburg, Virginia; four grandchildren, Heather Hall Campbell and husband, Brian of Richmond, Virginia, Timothy W. Hall and wife, Tanya of Locust Grove, Virginia, Edward Lindsey Hall III and Nathan Padgett Hall of Lynchburg, Virginia; five great grandchildren, Zachary and Riley Campbell of Richmond, Virginia, and Brennan, Connor, and Elise Hall of Locust Grove, Virginia; and a half sister, Lorena Williamson Hardesty of Freeport, Ohio.
A son, Edward Lindsey “Ned Jr.” Hall, Jr. and a sister, Grace Williamson Northcraft, preceded her in death.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 am at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel on Friday, March 5, 2010 with the Reverend Dr. Ken Patrick officiating. Interment will be private.
The family will receive friends on Friday morning one hour prior to the service at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork Street, Suite 405, Winchester, Virginia 22601.
