Dorothy Marie Jackson Swope, 74, of Clear Brook, Virginia, died Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at Winchester Medical Center.

Mrs. Swope was born in 1941, in Newark, Delaware, the daughter of the late Clara M. and William Jackson. She was a homemaker and a Certified Nurse’s Assistant (CNA) at Winchester Medical Center. Mrs. Swope was a former Manager with Trailside Outfitters in Brunswick, Maryland and Purcellville, Virginia.

She married Stephen Blaine Swope on December 5, 1959, at Dover Air Force Base in Dover, Delaware.

Surviving with her husband are two daughters, Donna Marie Swope Rouse (Ruben) of Silver Spring, Maryland, Jennifer May Swope Garrett (William R.) of Bluemont, Virginia; two sons, Michael Paul Swope (Tina) of Atlanta, Texas, David Matthew Swope (Laura) of Fredericksburg, Virginia; her brother, John Jackson (Debbie) of Elkins, Maryland.

Grandchildren, Akeel Mustapha Rouse, Aliyah Marie Rouse, Ahsha Micole Rouse, Alijah Malakhi Rouse, Azariah Matthew Rouse, Casey Michael Swope, Abigail May Swope; step-grandchildren, Sasha Marie Hopper, Toby Hopper, Caitlin Hay, Trey Hay, Cassy Hopper, Brian Hopper.

Two sisters, Margaret Jackson Drew, Evelyn Jackson and four brothers, James, Charles, Henry and Robert Jackson, preceded her in death.

Service and interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Earleville, Maryland at a time to be determined.
