Dorothy Clark Whitacre, 97, of Winchester, Virginia, died on July 8, 2014, in her home.

Mrs. Whitacre was born in 1917, in Bartonsville, Virginia, the daughter of the late Trovella E.P. and Margaret E. Clark. She was a homemaker, caring for her family.

Her husband, Kenneth Earl Whitacre, preceded her in death on May 26, 1988.

Surviving are two sisters, Grace Malone and Gertrude Messick, both of Frederick County, Virginia.

Mrs. Whitacre was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Racey, of Frederick County, Virginia, and three brothers, Roy Clark and Clifton Clark both of Frederick County, Virginia and Harry Clark of Winchester, Virginia.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 11, 2014 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:30 PM on Friday, July 11, 2014.
