Dorothy Agnes Scully

        Dorothy Agnes Handon Scully, 91, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Monday, July 8, 2013, in her home.

 

Mrs. Scully was born in 1921, in New York, New York, the daughter of the late Robert H. and Kathryn Handon.  She was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Winchester.  Mrs. Scully was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Shenandoah Area on Aging, the Winchester Garden Club and Winchester Medical Center Auxiliary.

 

She married James Louis Scully on February 27, 1943, in New York.  He preceded her in death on May 21, 2008.

 

Surviving are three daughters, Kathleen S. Hyde of Bowie, Maryland, Jamie Davis and husband, David, of Onemo, Virginia, Meggin Tierney of Kenner, Louisiana; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.  Two brothers, and one sister, preceded her in death.

 

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with recitation of the Rosary at 8:00 PM.

 

A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Thursday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Stanley J. Krempa officiating.  Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.

 

Memorial Contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Academy, 130 Keating Drive, Winchester, Virginia, 22601 or Shenandoah Area Agency on Aging, 207 Mosby Lane, Front Royal, Virginia  22630.
