Always vibrant and full of life is how I will forever remember Donna. I always knew that she was strong, able and determined. Special. How incredible she possessed these qualities was exemplified in the amazing strength and courage that was shown in facing the crippling disease that took her physically. A great loss for all her knew Donna, especially her classmates. We will miss her. I personally will remember the years we spent together in the Winchester Majorettes group and all the times I went to Donna's house to practice twirling our batans and doing cartwheels. Donna and I were best friends during our high school years. Donna and her mom, Louise, lived at my aunt’s house on North Braddock Street where I lived with my aunt. We became fast friends (more like sisters) even though she went to Handley High School and I went to James Wood High School. We would borrow each other’s clothes, stay up late talking and she would try to help me with my math. Donna also tried to teach me back flips and cartwheels that were her forte, certainly not mine. After we graduated high school, we decided to go on an adventure to Atlantic City in 1966 via the Greyhound bus to work for the summer at the beach. I was a bridesmaid at her wedding. Donna was full of spirit and energized those around her. There was never a dull moment with Donna around. My deepest sympathy to Tookie and the family.

I've thought of Donna every time I traveled Braddock Street. She was a very good friend to me in our high school years. She always had a kind word and a gusto for life!
