Donald Wayne Luttrell, 86, was called home by the Lord on February 16, 2018.
Donald was born March 13, 1931 in Winchester, Virginia, the youngest child of Herbert Dow and Etna DeHaven Luttrell.
Donald was a member of the 1951 first graduating class of James Wood High School. Donald served in the United Stated Army from 1952 to 1954 during the Korean War, attaining the rank of Sergeant in the Medical Corp. He was a member of the Gainesboro United Methodist Church. He retired from 3M Company in Middleway, West Virginia after 26 years of service. Donald was an avid hunter and fisherman. He greatly enjoyed working on the farm with his son.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Herbert, Mack and John Luttrell; two sisters, Helen and Carmen Luttrell. A surviving sister, Judith Masters resides in Hedgesville, West Virginia.
He is also survived by his daughter, Gina L. Luttrell of Denver, Colorado, his son, Bradford D. Luttrell and wife Leisa of Summit Point, West, Virginia and his greatest pride and joy his 7-year-old grandson, Silas D. Luttrell.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Pastor Mike Withem officiating. Interment will be at Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Frederick County, Virginia. Pallbearers are Michael Luttrell, Daniel Luttrell, Warren Ruble, Fred Ruble, Dwight DeHaven and Mike Boden.
