DANELLA CARROLL left a message on June 21, 2017:
I REMEMBER WHEN DONNIE FIRST STARTED WORKING AT SOLENBERGER'S, WE ALL WERE LEAVING FOR THE DAY AND HIS CAR WOULDN'T START, I STAYED WITH HIM UNTIL HIS WIFE CAME TO GET HIM, HE SAID "OH YOU DON'T HAVE TO STAY" AND I SAID I WOULDN'T HEAR OF IT, I WANTED TO MAKE SURE THAT HE WASN'T ALONE AND SAFE UNTIL HELP CAME.....THAT WAS THE START OF OUR FRIENDSHIP AND BEEN GOING STRONG EVER SINCE!! DONNIE (MY BUDDY) AND I WORKED AT SOLENBERGER'S FOR 11 YEARS, I ENJOYED THE TIME GETTING TO KNOW HIM AND WORKING WITH HIM, HE WAS SMART, FUNNY, GOOFY AT TIMES, A DOWN TO EARTH KIND OF GUY! HE WAS THE BEST FRIEND ANYONE COULD ASK FOR, I LOVED HIM LIKE A FATHER, I COULD ASK HIM ANYTHING AND HE WOULD ALWAYS HAVE AN ANSWER. HE TAUGHT ME HOW TO WIRE UP MY OWN LAMPS TOO, HE WAS ALWAYS JOKING AND LAUGHING, NOT ONE TIME DID I EVER SEE HIM ANGRY AT ANYONE, HE HAD A BEAUTIFUL SOUL AND I WILL MISS MY BUDDY VERY MUCH, MAY HE REST IN PEACE WITH OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST!
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.

Donnie was one of the most godly men I have ever met. He was so loving and kind and he prayed regularly for our family and Solenberger's Hardware. He was always smiling and helping our customers. He loved Jeanette and his girls Donna and Lisa so much. I will never forget you Donnie and I know I will see you again. I'm so thankful that Jesus saved us and made us family. We will see each other again on that grand reunion day! What a day that will be! Rest easy dear buddy. Love you!
