Dereck Alan Carter, 45 of Winchester, VA, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Winchester Medical Center.

Dereck was born in 1980 in Winchester, the son of Roger and Cynthia Carter. He was a graduate of James Wood High School, Class of 1999 and worked as a truck driver for Food Liner. He was a member of 1154 Crossroads Ministry. Dereck was into CB Radios, Fox Body Mustangs and was a big WWE fan. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his 3 children.

He is survived by his wife, Rachel whom he married on July 29, 2017; daughter, Marissa Ann Carter of Stephenson, VA sons, Dustin Takota Carter of Inwood, WV, Thomas William Carter of Winchester, VA; maternal grandparents, Actress Isabelle Goller of Stephenson, VA, John Lewis Goller of Bunker Hill, WV; sisters, Holly Simons (Vincent) of Stephenson, VA and Charlene Mae Carter of Bunker Hill, WV and first wife, Sarah Betham of Berkeley Springs, WV.

Dereck is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Linda, and Roger Carter.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 10am with a service to follow at 11am all held at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
