Deborah Elaine Shickle, 75, of Hedgesville WV passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born and raised in Hedgesville, she married her high school sweetheart, Terry, and shared 56 married years with him, raising a family and loving those around her. She created so many fond and cherished memories with her loved ones, among the most special are beach trips, walks with kids and grandkids, mushroom hunts, raspberry picking with yummy jam to follow, and endless delicious recipes.

Deborah had a heart to serve others, so much so that she took on the challenge of going back to school to get her nursing degree while raising her family. She worked as an RN for many years, caring for others as she continued to serve and care for her family.

She will be missed by those whose lives she touched.

Deborah is survived by her husband Terry, her daughter Tricia (John), her daughter-in-law Megan, six grandchildren: Abbee(Spencer), Isabelle (John), Beau, Brooks, Peyton, Lang and two great grandchildren: Cora and EllieClare. She is also survived by siblings: Barbara, Donald (Tina), Wayne (Lois), Glenn (Tillie), David (Sandi) and Daniel as well as many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Clyde and Evelyn Spies, son Robert, granddaughter Lane, brother Stanley, and sister Cindy.

A memorial service will be held for Deborah on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 2pm at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Officiating will be Pastor Jonathan Boynton.
