Deborah Diane Griffith, 59, of Winchester, Virginia passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2019 in Holy Cross Hospital, Silver Spring, Maryland.
Deborah was born in 1959, in Bluefield, West Virginia the daughter of the late Duel M. Sigmon, Sr. and Betty J. Sigmon. Deborah when she last worked was the director of payroll at American Public University in Charles Town, West Virginia. Deborah’s faith in our savior Jesus Christ was a long time focus for her and derived great joy from bonding with and supporting friends near and far. She loved all animals and especially her own dogs.
Deborah married Mark Griffith on August 8, 1996 in Fairfax, Virginia.
Surviving with her husband Mark, is her brother Duel M. Sigmon, Jr., sister in-law Alice Sigmon, nephew Caleb Sigmon all of Bent Mountain, Virginia, her mother in-law Joan Griffith, and her fur babies, Sapphire, Trixie, Peaches and Boomer.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 25, 2019 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A memorial service will be conducted on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at 3:00 pm at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.

Mark & Family, I was so sorry to hear the news. Debbie will be so so missed. She was my first Manager in Payroll and she was amazing! I had only done back up at my prior employer and she was so great in teaching me the ropes to take the reins and run with it. Later I was so grateful that she still wanted to stay in touch even though we no longer worked together. I will always value her friendship, her advise and her prayers as she helped me through a lot of tough times. She was a very special lady. You and the family are in my prayers.
