David W. “Sonny” Sabo
David W. “Sonny” Sabo, 75, of Winchester, VA, died Sunday, March 16, 2014 in the Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Sabo was born in 1938 in Carbon County, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Jesse and Helen Sabo. He graduated from Ben Franklin University with both Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Accounting. Prior to his retirement, he was self-employed as an Accountant and Tax Preparer. Mr. Sabo was an avid golfer and Corvette enthusiast.
He married Vera Eugenia Stephanoff Sabo on October 24, 1998 in Potomac, Maryland. Mrs. Sabo preceded her husband in death on July 8, 2012. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Betty (Hash) Sabo.
He is survived by a son, Lou Hash and wife, Pam of Corsicana, Texas; five grandchildren, Anthony Hash of Corsicana, Texas, Amber Hash Hardy and husband, Stephen, also of Corsicana, David McCulloch of Athens, Texas, Matt Barnes and wife, Beth of Waxahachie, Texas, and Michael Barnes and wife, Cara of Frisco, Texas; nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Janet Ann Cleary and husband, Thomas of Woodbine, Maryland and Kathleen H. Doering and husband, Phil of Bloomington, Indiana, and a brother, Charles G. Sabo and wife, Bonnie of Wheaton, Maryland. Mr. Sabo is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A brother, Jesse J. Sabo, Jr. is deceased.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel. Interment will be private in Shenandoah Memorial Park at a later date.
