David John “Dave” Daylor, age 88, of Winchester, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2015, in Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Center, Winchester.
Mr. Daylor was born in 1926, in Fall River, MA, the son of the late Frances L. and Kathryn K. Daylor. He graduated from BMC Durfee High School Class of 1943. Dave was a veteran having served in the United States Army Calvary. He was President of Ashworth Bros., Inc., Winchester, VA, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Dave was a loving and supportive family man who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Mr. Daylor will be forever remembered for his generosity and commitment to his family.
Dave married Anne Marie Flynn on October 23, 1951, in Tiverton, Rhode Island.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Diane Daylor Fusco of Winchester, Virginia and Kathryn Daylor of Annandale, Virginia; one son, David J. Daylor, Jr. and wife, Mary Lou, of Winchester, Virginia; five grandchildren, John, Jennifer, David III, Logan and Cole; four great grandchildren, Essence, Errance, Emerson and Lydia; one sister, Mary Larkin of Long Beach, California and one brother, Frances L. Daylor and wife, Jo Ann, of Richmond, Virginia. A sister, Margaret Horne, preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, June 11, 2015, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Friday, June 12, 2015, at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Stanley J. Krempa officiating.
