Marla Lord left a message on August 5, 2026:
Although I did not know Cynthia, my family lived next door to Rowena and Mickey in Syracuse until they moved away. My parents bought the house to the south not long after I was born in June of 1953. My brother, Jimmy Minnis, was friends with Richard. Two occasions I remember were the two of them flipping some kind of boat at the Hamilton Co. Lake (which hasn’t existed for many years) and having to swim back to shore which was quite a distance. The other was my mom finding the two of them eating ice cream right out of the carton sitting at our kitchen table. When Rowena and Mickey went to Texas in the winter months, we kept an eye on the house. In exchange, I was allowed to play the organ at their house anytime I wanted to. Rowena made me a beautiful wedding candle when I got married in 1972. I’m now 73 and my brother is 83. We have a sister, Carol, who is 74. I’m on the left in the photo attached, Jimmy and then Carol. Our last name was Hoyt.
