Cornelia G. Unger
Cornelia Gordon Unger, 85, of Winchester, Virginia, went to be with her Lord, Monday, January 2, 2012, after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Unger was born in 1926, in Frederick County, Virginia, the daughter of the late Edgar and Cornelia Gordon. She was a homemaker and worked as well as volunteered outside the home. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Winchester and a graduate of Stonewall School, Class of 1944.
She married Carrol A. Unger on November 26, 1947, in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Surviving with her husband of 64 years, is her daughter, Pamela Ginn and husband, Les, of Knoxville, Tennessee; two sons, Monte Unger and Dwaine Unger and wife, Cindy, all of Frederick County, Virginia; three grandchildren, Lance and Paige Ginn and Danny Unger; one great grandson, Hudson Ginn; and a brother, Fred Gordon of Frederick County.
Two brothers, Mack Gordon, Langdon Gordon and her half-sister, Lucille Hottinger, preceded her in death.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Reverend Steve Melester officiating. Interment will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
