Condolences to all of the family. I went to Handley High school with Dee. Cancer is a terrible condition. She is now pain free. Cherish all the good memories that all of you made together. When my 1st husband died, I started a notebook to write down memories & details of little things likely to be forgotten.

Dear Jim, Nick, and family, I am deeply saddened to hear of the loss of Dee. I feel so fortunate to have been your neighbor and friend, and I cherish the many fond memories from our time together in Southern Oaks. With Nick just a couple of years older than my son, Dee—always with a warm smile—offered spot-on parenting advice through every stage of our son’s childhood. From the first book, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, to navigating the college years, she shared her wisdom generously. Dee was a truly special lady, and she will be missed dearly.

Joan Reimann left a message on December 10, 2025:
Jim, Nick, and Dee’s extended and loving family — we have lost an extraordinary woman, mother, wife, and friend. Dee was one of the very first moms I met when we moved to Oakton from Florida. As a “freshman” mom with a son on the football team, I was overwhelmed with the whole process and Dee immediately welcomed me in and took me under her wing. She taught me the ropes of game days, Red Death dinners, and pumpkin bars. We spent countless hours working on projects to make the boys football days memorable and they were! Dee was not only Nick's biggest cheerleader, she always cheered on the successes of all of her sports "family". Even as Dee faced so many health challenges, she was positive, warm, and so caring, the epitome of a team mom and a friend to all. She will be missed.
Megan Therese left a message on December 7, 2025:
My deepest sympathies for the loss of Dee. She was, and always will be, a friendship I will cherish forever. I will never forget the time I drove from Rhode Island with my father to finally meet her and Jim in person. They welcomed us with open arms and embraced every moment we shared. I always called her Sweet Dee or Mama Dee, and that’s exactly who she was to me. She is so loved and already so deeply missed. Our goal in life is to be kind and to leave an everlasting impact, and she truly did that. Her light will continue to shine brightly in everyone who had the honor of knowing her. Love you forever and always, Mama Dee. The pea to our pod. Love, “Your Sweet Megan”
