Christina Campbell (Selkirk) Inglis, 94, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Saturday, January 16, 2016, at Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. Inglis was born in 1921, in Lamlash, Aran, Scotland, the daughter of the late Alexander and Agnes Selkirk. She was a graduate of Patterson University. Mrs. Inglis was an elementary school teacher, teaching in Winchester, Vermont, New York, New Jersey, Colombia South America. She was a missionary in Colombia for 10 years, and very involved in Chinese Sunday School in New Jersey. She played the piano, was active in the women’s group at church and was a member of the Hand Bell Choir. Mrs. Inglis was a member of the Vermont State Grange and was a Docent at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley. She enjoyed bird watching and was an avid knitter.
She married The Reverend J. Leslie Inglis on August 23, 1947, in Bloomfield, New Jersey.
Surviving with her husband are her daughters, Agnes Walker Stephens and husband, Andrew, of Peoria, Illinois, Martha Anne Inglis of Winchester, Virginia; grandchildren, Rachel Justin, David Stephens and Lady Sarah Wong; 4 great grandchildren and her sister, Annie Scratchley of New Jersey.
Her daughter, Ellen Leslie Inglis, preceded her in death.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 2:00-3:00 PM, at Second Opequon Presbyterian Church, 107 Miller Road, Winchester, Virginia 22602.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Thursday at Second Opequon Presbyterian Church with Reverend Ron Obenchain and Pastor Alan Morrison officiating. Interment will be private.
