Cher A. Lineweaver, 66 of Winchester, VA, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family.
Cher was born June 15, 1958 in Arlington, VA, the daughter of the late Robert M. McKessor and Marion D. (Gossage) Russell. She worked as manager for Tape World in Winchester from 1985-1995 and as a cashier for the Frederick County Treasurer’s Office, retiring in 2019. Cher enjoyed going to tea with her daughters and Christmas shopping with “her boys” on Black Friday. She enjoyed listening to music and playing music in the band with her family. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and spoiling her grand dogs.
She married Ronnie Lee Lineweaver on May 31, 1992, in Winchester and he preceded her in death on January 18, 2022.
Cher is survived by her daughters Angela Dawn Carroll (Thomas) and Kristy Lynn Donohoe (Dave “Evad”); sister, Robin Huneycutt; brothers, Bobby McKessor (the late Annette) and Jamie McKessor; brother-in-law, Timmy Lineweaver; sisters-in-law, Pam Wilkins (Eddie) and Teresa Couch (Brian), her grand dogs, Stella and Karma and her nieces, nephews and dear friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Cher is preceded in death by her stepfather, Jimmy R. Russell and grand dogs, Sable, Jenna and Chloe.
Cher’s family would like to say a special Thank You to her caregiver Nancy Clutter and to those at Blue Ridge Hospice for taking such wonderful care of her.

Family and friends are invited to her visitation Monday March 3 from 6pm-8pm and her Funeral Service Tuesday March 4 at 11:00am with Pastor Alan Morrison officiating all at the Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, 1600 Amherst St. Winchester. Entombment will take place at Shenandoah Memorial Park, Winchester.
Pallbearers will be Dave Donohoe, Thomas Carroll, Timmy Lineweaver, Brian Couch, Eddie Wilkins and Dennis “DA” Allen.
