Bob Carpenter left a message on May 28, 2024:
Charles was a quiet man, a family man, and a leader that will be missed. My condolences to Joline and to all of his family. I had the privilege to work with Charles when he was a member of the board of Valley Farm Credit. I also saw his actions first-hand as he worked for the people of Frederick County. Charles was not about making news headlines; but for those that knew him, were well aware of the contributions he made. Charles' opinion was respected and his quiet manner in the way he approached issues made him a leader for his community. It was a privilege to know and work with this man. You will be missed Charlie!

We are so sorry to hear of Mr. Orndorff's passing. He was a very fine human being. He was on the Board of Supervisors when I was hired as the IT Director, and I have always appreciated his support.
Peter Synowietz left a message on May 27, 2024:
I was fortunate to have Charles as my first boss for six years at the butcher shop and his farm. He helped me buy my first cow for my VoAg project and ninety percent of what I learned about "farming" and cows I learned from him. He was there for me to assist with the birth of the first calf. I remember days when helping him at his farm and we'd go to the house for lunch. Jolene would fix us a couple of hot dogs and I don't know how she did it but they were the best tasting hot dogs I ever had! We had a lot of good times at the butcher shop even though it wasn't always easy work. I feel blessed to have known Charles and his family for so many years. He was a great man and he will certainly be missed but not forgotten. Rest in peace.
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.
