Charles Ervin Plummer, 58, of Winchester, Virginia passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2020, at his home.

Charles was born in 1962, son of the late Walter and Mary Lee Plummer. He was a graduate of John Handley High School and attended Lord Fairfax Community College. Charles was employed at Valley Health for 40 years. He enjoyed cooking and he loved to express his culinary skills. Charles also loved fishing and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and family. He married Lilliallen Gaunt on May 20, 2013 in Winchester, Virginia.

Surviving with his wife is a daughter, Sarah Ann Munoz (Norben) of Winchester, Virginia and a son, Timothy Mathias Plummer (Carrie) of Stephens City, Virginia; mothers-in-law, Alma Gaunt and Sallie Hoffman; his first wife, Sharon Hodgson; grandchildren, Malikye and Ayva Summers, Nevaeh, Lincoln, Elaina, and Kenyon Munoz, and Ella Plummer; sisters, Juanita Coumes, Bettie Mercer, Sandra Dugan, Stephan Plummer; and brothers, Clarence, Hubert, Walter Lee and James Plummer.

Along with his parents, Charles was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Dunlap and brothers, Dennis, William and Samuel Plummer, Sr.

A visitation will be from 1 pm to 2 pm on Thursday, September 17th, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 2 pm with Reverend Hubert Plummer officiating. Interment will be in Macedonia United Methodist Church Cemetery.

I worked with Charles for 5 years. He always had a bright and sunny smile on his face. Charles was always willing to help anyone who needed it and would always make you laugh. I have the pleasure of working beside his lovely wife Lilli so it has been very easy for me to come to know and love both of them. Charles will be greatly missed continued love, prayers and support going out to Charles and his family.

I worked with Charlie for 10 years. He will be missed.

I am so sorry to here of Charles' passing. I worked with him back when Winchester Medical Center was located at Cork Street and Mr. Napps was the CEO. He was always so helpful. I will miss him.

Lilli, I am so sorry for your loss. Charles was a great guy and I will always have such fond memories from when I would come with my Mom to Valley Health and visit the guys. You have my condolences.

Charles has been in our Valley Health work family for 40 years and shared lots of great memories . He was a good sport when we had our Christmas parties at the Stewart St site. As a participant in the Dating game and other skits, his humor and fun demeanor was evident. He was a devoted and loyal employee who will be missed! In May, 2013 Charles joined Mama's family and was a loving husband to Lilli. He looked out for Mama, Judy Snyder and Alma "Mom" Sis Gaunt , when they needed his kindness, compassion and TLC. All of Mama's family will miss him and send love and heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. Yes... it takes a long time to grow an old friend !!!!! Rest In Peace ! I was so sorry to hear about Charles' passing. He was always smiling and always polite to me whenever I saw him. He talked about his family and the love he had for all of them. My sincere sympathy to his wife Lilli and his family on this loss.
