Charles E. Hefele
Charles Edward Hefele, 79, of Winchester, Virginia, died Tuesday, February 11, 2014 in the Veterans Medical Center, Martinsburg, West Virginia.
Mr. Hefele was born in 1935 in Little Rock, Arkansas, the son of the late Edward and Dorothy Hefele. He was a Master Sargent with the United States Army, having served in Vietnam and retiring in 1980. Charles was a member of the Eagles Club and American Legion Post 21.
His wife, Hildegard Hefele, preceded him in death on November 10, 2010.
Surviving is a daughter, Christina Agner and husband, James, of Linden, Virginia; three grandchildren, Zachary Hughes of Winchester, Virginia, Riley Agner of Linden, Virginia and Timothy Hughes of Winchester, Virginia; and a sister, Pauline Voight of St. Louis, Missouri. Mr. Hefele’s sister, Patricia Hefele preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00-6:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A memorial service will be conducted on Wednesday at 6:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Chaplain Christina J. Brooks-Signo officiating.
