Charles Anthony Cooke
Charles Anthony “Jug” Cooke, 62, of Clear Brook, Virginia, died Monday, February 13, 2012, in his home.
Mr. Cooke was born in 1949, in Winchester, Virginia, the son of Ella Lee (Robinson) Cooke and the late Charles Ray Cooke. He was retired maintenance worker with Valley Protein. Mr. Cooke was an antique car enthusiast and loved music and hunting. He enjoyed welding and kept many farmers equipment in good running order. Mr. Cooke was a Veteran of the United States Army, during the Vietnam War, achieving the rank of E-5.
He married Betty Louise Stine on September 6, 1969 in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Surviving with his mother of Frederick County, Virginia, and his wife, are two daughters, Krista LeDane of Edinburg, Virginia, Amy Whitacre and husband, Clay, of Gore, Virginia; two grandchildren, Katie and Ashlynn LeDane; sister, Faye Lanham and husband Donnie of Ranson, West Virginia; two brothers, Mike Cook and wife, Betty and Ronnie Cooke and wife Linda all of Clear Brook, Virginia.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Pastor Tom Mounts and Pastor David Duckworth officiating. Interment will be in Hebron Lutheran Church Cemetery, Yellow Springs, West Virginia.
Pallbearers will be his nephews, Charlie Cook, Gregory Cook, Mark Cook, Joey Cook, Robbie Elliott, and Donnie Lanham, Jr.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
