Charles A. Stine
Charles Alfred Stine, 86, of Clear Brook, Virginia, died Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at his home.
Mr. Stine was born in 1928, in Crystal Lake, Illinois, the son of the late Samuel M. and Etta B. Stine. He was a retired truck driver with Allegheny Freight Line, serving for over 42 years. Charles traveled the entire United States while driving his truck and received the “4 Million Mile Plaque”. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Charles was known for his good heart. He was always there and willing to help anyone he could.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Naomi Swisher, whom he married on November 18, 1948.
Surviving are three daughters, Betty L. Cooke, Terry Ann Ferguson and Vickie Feller and husband, Heath; grandchildren, Krista LeDane, Amy Whitacre, Sarah Boyce, Jessica James and Paul Ferguson; great grandchildren; Katie LeDane, Ashlynn LeDane, Hayleigh Boyce, Ava Boyce, Xander Schwartzenberg, Jesse James and Dakota James and his brother, Lewis Stine.
His son, Charles T. Stine; son-in-laws, Charles Cooke and Richard Ferguson; four sisters, Emma, Esther, Blanch and Elaine and five brothers, Paul, McAdoo, Harry, Billy and Earl Stine, preceded him in death.
All services with Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel will be private.
