Sharon & Merilyn... your Mother loved for us to come & visit. Back when Uncle Lloyd & Aunt Catherine lived in Stephenson, there was always a feast prepared. She never sat down, in fact, she was watching for your plate to be empty! It was like magic, your plate & silverware disappeared in a blink of an eye. She never let a dish sit unwashed. I remember when we came down one of the first few years John & I were married, they had a big black kettle with an open fire cooking their own Apple Butter. Your parents always had a big garden, your Mom loved to can & freeze. Dawn was still fairly young one time when we went to bed, she took her flip flops out on the back porch to air out! When John spent the summer with your Mom & Dad, she had reason to stay a little mad at him & his pranks he played on her. But she didn't. I am happy we stopped to visit last year with Dawn's twins, Jared & Jordan. Your Mom wanted us to spend the night but we already had motel reservations. We stopped to visit the next morning, she had baked a cake for us to enjoy with her. We appreciated Jo, Ralph, you & Merilyn coming over to visit with us at your Mom's. I picked out a different picture for both of you, & your Mom's Christmas cards this year. We loved your Mother, she was a gem!
