Cassandra Ann “Sweet Pea” Plummer Mathews, 42, of Frederick County, Virginia, went to be with her heavenly Father on Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at her home.
Ms. Mathews was born in 1973, in Winchester, Virginia the daughter of Hubert and Brenda Plummer. She was a graduate of Clarke County High School, Class of 1991, and of Shenandoah University receiving a Bachelor’s Degree. Ms. Mathews was employed as a registered nurse at The Willows Nursing Facility in Winchester. She was a member of Faith Fellowship Church in Berryville, Virginia. Cassandra loved to play the piano, flute and sing her many talents will be missed by all.
Surviving with her parents of Berryville, Virginia are her sons, Trenton Mathews and William “C.J.” Mathews, IV, both of Winchester and two brothers, Justin Plummer and wife, Pamela, Eric Plummer and wife, Kristina, all of Winchester, Virginia as well as many nieces, nephews aunts and uncles who loved her dearly. She was a gentle kind and loving person with a heart of gold who loved everyone dearly.
Cassandra was preceded in death by grandparents Walter Samuel and Mary Plummer, Edgar and Erma Mercer as well as a much loved Uncle Abe and Aunt Sue.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Reverend David Palmer officiating and fond memories being shared by her cousin Donna Elliott. Interment will follow in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
