Carole Cameron Schauer, 64, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Saturday, September 10, 2011, in Winchester Medical Center.

Mrs. Schauer was born in 1947, in Montgomery, Alabama, the daughter of Mildred Cameron Berglin and Collis Cameron. She was an Assistant Vice President of American Charter Savings and Loan in Lincoln, NE. Mrs. Schauer was a graduate of North Hagerstown High School, Class of 1965 and of Lebanon Valley College, Class of 1969, where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in English.

Carole loved barbershop music and was an avid member of the Vienna-Falls Sweet Adelines Chorus. In addition she was a tenor in Unchained Harmony, her barbershop quartet. She was Associate Director, Tenor Section Leader and a member of the Performance Committee.

Mrs. Schauer also loved reading, traveling and crocheting. She was a loving wife and mother and will be greatly missed by all.

She married Larry Lee Schauer on June 1, 1968 in Hagerstown, Maryland.

Surviving with her husband is her daughter, Erica Christine Schauer of Charlottesville, Virginia, her sister, Christine Ellis of Dayton, Ohio, and brother, Cameron Collins II of Lodi, California.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Monday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Reverend Dr. Richard Reifsnyder officiating. Interment will be private.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 10:00-11:00 AM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel

I want to give my condolences to Larry Schauer and Erica. I have not kept up with what is happening in your life after you left Lincoln, but I'm still thinking about you these past few days.
