Carol L. “Joe” Turner
Carol Loraine “Joe” Turner, 82, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Friday, February 17, 2012, in his home.
Mr. Turner was born in 1929, in Romney, West Virginia, the son of the late Martin and Sarah Elizabeth Turner. He was a truck driver with Time DC until his retirement. After retirement Mr. Turner then worked at Round Hill Shopping Center for over 20 years. He attended Round Hill United Methodist Church. Joe was a kind and loving soul who was known for having never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed by all his loving family and friends.
He married Rosaline Jane Wince in Romney, West Virginia.
Surviving with his wife of over 60 years are two daughters, Lenora Crim and husband, Gary, of Berryville, Mary Snapp and husband, Joseph, of Winchester, three sons, Bernard Turner, Richard Turner and Harry Turner and his wife, Regina, all of Winchester; eleven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and sister, Ruth Hankins of Charlestown, West Virginia.
One sister, Pearl Dawson and four brothers, Homer Turner, Lloyd Turner, Emory Turner and Blaine Turner, preceded him in death.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Pastor Steve Wells officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Frederick County, Virginia.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
