Carol Jean High, 84 of Front Royal, VA passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at her home.

Carol was born in 1938 in Meyersdale, PA the daughter of the late Fay and Martha Bittner. She retired from General Dynamics as a Clerical Secretary. Carol enjoyed crafting, shopping, traveling (especially cruising) and most of all loved spending time with her family.

She married Carl Lee High, Sr. on June 8, 1979 in Front Royal, VA, he preceded her in death on May 3, 2020.

Carol is survived by her daughters, Joyce Carter (Warren) and Linda Mcllwee (Terry); stepsons Johnny Whittington, James High (Peggy) and Michael High (Tammy); grandchildren Tonya Quental (Lawrence “Q”), Britni Fauver, Dezarae Churchill and Aaron High; great-grandchildren Codi Miller, Cory Miller and Noah Churchill and son-in-law, Dennis Settle.

In addition to her parents and husband Carl, she was also preceded in death by her daughter Faith Settle; stepson Carl Lee High Jr; grandson Jay Whittington and her brother Kenneth “Kenny” Bittner.

A visitation will be Friday, January 13, 2023 at 12pm with a service to follow at 1pm all held at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel with Pastor Alan Morrison officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Carol may be made to the Humane Society of Warren County, 1245 Progress Dr., Front Royal, VA 22630.
