My sincere and deepest condolences to Mrs. Millers family. She was an incredible woman who touched so many. Through her love of Art, her amazing teaching abilities she had the gift to inspire. I hold fond memories being taught by her, I also had the pleasure of spending recent times with her and have cherished those times. Also smiling, just as positive as she was at Handley. What a gift she had! She will always be dear in my heart, and forever in the hearts of those who knew her and had the honor of her teachings. She is now painting the most glorious pictures!! ...we love you, we will always remember an amazing person!

I lost my best friend, Marian Miller. I wish I could my destiny and give my life for her so she could be here. I feel like I'm drowning because I want to cry and scream but I can't. My life is not going to be the same because part of my life went with her. R.I.P

I never had Marion as a teacher at Handley, I helped my daughter with some projects from Marion’s class as best as Dad could do with paper and wood. I never had to help my son with his projects in Marion’s class, I know he frustrated her to no end. Some of their work is still on display today in our home. I came to Marion after they had graduated, as an engineer needing help with a Vacation Bible School project I was building for church, I could build the canyon but I had no clue how to paint it. Marion liberated this poor monochrome soul, showing me techniques, colors, mixing and blending colors beyond anything I had ever imagined possible. Marion opened the door and showed me a glimpse of possibilities, and every once in a while I could come back for another lesson. The reef was gorgeous, the stable looked like stone and wood. I didn’t know what I had been missing and Marion gave me and others a confidence, well founded or not, to give it a try. If the first attempt didn’t work, cover it up and try again. She gave me an A for my ear. I’ll miss her, I was hoping to consult her yet again only to learn our time had run out. Thank you Marion, for sharing your gifts and art with all. David Ray

I still remember fondly the four years of art classes I took with her and Hanley. She was a caring warm person who always enticed the best from her students. She pushed us to try new mediums on a regular basis. To the family, know that there were many people who were touched by her and have fond memories of her.

MARIAN was my private art instructor for the past 3- 4 years; we had a blast during our time together and I learned a lot from her. She will be sorely missed by all who had the opportunity to know her. Her keen sense of humor and positive outlook on life were but two of her endearing qualities. I will miss her terribly. May God bless her beloved daughter, son-in-law and her grandchildren.
