Carl David “Dave” Glover died on June 15, 2024, at Winchester Medical Center in the company of his loving family.
David was born Oct. 26, 1940, in Ellington Missouri, the son of Rev. Carl and Freeda Glover.
David spent much of his adult life as the founder and president of Crown Urethane, an early pioneer in direct-to-consumer polyurethane insulation. Through his work he was able to contribute to multiple architecturally award-winning projects and collaborated on the test modules for the Ice Cube Neutrino Observatory in Antarctica.
In the fleeting moments that Dave wasn’t hard at work, he was a two-time state champion point guard at James Wood High School, enjoyed following basketball, the outdoors and spending time with his clowder of barn cats. He was a kindhearted, empathic man who never met a stranger he couldn’t strike up a conversation with. He will be deeply missed.
David was predeceased by his sister, Norene Mallory and his beloved daughter, Kimberly Cline.
David is survived by his wife, Patricia Glover, his son Barry and his wife Kelly Glover, 4 grandchildren: Jonathan Glover (Sara), Benjamin Glover (Kerenza Davenport), Alexandra Cline (Brendan Billy) and Dylan Cline (Taylor Huntsberry) as well as great-grandchildren, Everett Glover, Adalynn and Ila Cline; sister, Joanna Andrews (Bill) and a host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to Alzheimer’s Research.
A visitation will be held for David on Wednesday, June 26 from 12pm to 2pm with a service to be conducted at 2pm all held at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Jaime Zirkle.
