David Lee Boslaugh, 92 of Winchester, VA, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.
David was born in 1932 in Flaxville, MT, the son of the late Donald R. Boslaugh and Opal Fern (Burkes) Bender. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and went on to earn his Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School. David served our country in the United States Navy rising to the rank of Captain. During his time in the Navy, David received the Legion of Merit Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal, the China Service Medal and the National Defense Medal. He retired from the Navy as an Engineering Duty Officer in 1985. David was a member of the Society of Sigma Xi, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the Institute of Aerospace Sciences.
David married Marian Parry Russell on March 2, 1957, in Long Beach, CA and she preceded him in death on December 26, 2019.
He is survived by his daughter, Susan M. Boslaugh of Annandale, VA, son, Bruce R. Boslaugh (Karen) of Wimauma, FL, grandchildren, Jason L. Boslaugh (Melissa) of Cambridge, England, Brendan R. Boslaugh of Virginia Beach, VA, Jessica M. Mynatt (Mark) of Parrish, FL, 5 great-grandchildren and his sister, Carol Hanson of Eureka, MT.
In addition to his parents and wife, David is preceded in death by his brother, Richard K. Boslaugh.
A Celebration of Life will be held for David on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at 11am at The Village at Orchard Ridge Chapel. A reception will follow the service.
