I baby-sat Burton when I attended high school in Lisbon Falls, Maine. My heart is full of tears and I shall miss him even as I thank God he believed in Jesus' own words that He (Jesus) is "the Way, the Truth and the Life" - and no one comes to the Father but through Him (Jesus)/! I thank God Burton humbly accepted God's grace of removing all sins, remembering them no more, Burton is now with his younger brother and his parents this minute. Not only that, he is finally, finally rid of years of horrific pain. He and I have corresponded through the years but especially this past year just before my shock at hearing his passing. I than God for this privilege of unity in Jesus, that unity Jesus Himself prayed for just prior to His suffering for us in John 17! Oh, that all Christians could be blessed by this obedience for what Jesus did for all of us! I love Joy and Bob and all the others in this family. They have set my eyes on eternity. Mona Leaton

I can see his handsome smile to this day <3 And to play or watch the Sweet Brothers play volleyball was a pure JOY.....Burton played with everything he had in him! I have not seen for for many years...so was so pleased to receive a "sweet" private note from him via Face Book a while back! As one of the "younger little kids" growing up around him....I was so pleased he remembered me! To me he was always one of "The Cool Guys." It was great to re-connect, even if it was JUST on Face Book. Loved you Burton..and praising God you are now free of pain and in your Lords presence. We'll see you again....and enjoy eternity with all our loved ones! You will be so missed by all those who loved you this side of Heaven <3 Our hearts go out to the family and friends. We will be holding them in our hearts and prayers for Gods Comfort to wash over them! Love to each of you, from my heart to yours!

Burton Sweet was one of the most sincere and considerate people I had the pleasure to know. He and I graduated from Brunswick High School in Brunswick, Maine in 1958. Since the advent of the Internet, we have periodically connected and I had a chance to express to him my wonderful memories of him and our high school years together. I still see his boyish face and quiet welcoming smile. My condolences to his family at this difficult time.

My sincere sympathy to all of the family. I will always remember Burt as I knew him at Brunswick High School, a young man with an infectious smile and a penchant for motorcycles.
