Brenda Kay Smith, 72 of Winchester, VA, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Evergreen Health & Rehab.

Brenda was born in 1952 in Winchester, VA, the daughter of the late Alvin and Winona Smith. She was a graduate of James Wood High School, Class of 1971 where she played saxophone. Brenda was a member of Mt. Olive United Methodist Church. Brenda worked as a security guard at Kohl’s Distribution Center, was a box office attendant at Plaza Theater and a machine operator at Capitol Record for 25 plus years. She enjoyed doing needlepoint, reading and her Subaru’s. Brenda was an avid Washington Redskins fan. Most of all she loved spending time with her nieces, nephews, cats and her annual cookie day.

She is survived by her niece, Beth Williamson (Shawn), brothers, Randy Smith (Monica), Ronnie Smith and many other nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Brenda is preceded in death by her sister, Karen Massie, brother, Rick Smith and niece, Paige Williams.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025, at 2pm with a service to follow at 3pm all held at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
