Brenda C. Trenary
Brenda Carol Trenary, 70, of Stephens City, Virginia, died Thursday, October 30, 2014, in Blue Ridge Hospice Residential Center.
Mrs. Trenary was born in 1944, in Alexandria, Virginia, the daughter of the late Elwood G. and Margaret Trenary. She was a graduate of Groveton High School. She was married to Warren D. Adkins, Sr. for 35 years. Mrs. Trenary was formerly employed by C&P Telephone Company in Washington, D.C.; Henkel Harris Furniture Co. and Frederick County Public Schools Transportation Department. She was the original Special Education bus driver for FCPS retiring after 31 years of service doing a job that she loved.
Mrs. Trenary enjoyed traveling, playing cards, quilting, scrapbooking and taking care of her family, friends and neighbors. She battled cancer four times with a positive attitude and a smile on her face. Mrs. Trenary’s favorite quote was “Life isn’t about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain.”
Surviving is her daughter, Jennifer Adkins of CVTC, Lynchburg, Virginia; granddaughter, Brittany Detwiler and husband, David; beloved great granddaughter, Amelia Rose Detwiler all of Stephens City; sister, Nancy Hunt and husband, Tom, of Yorktown, Virginia and their four children, spouses and their children.
Her son, Warren “Doug” Adkins, Jr., preceded her in death.
The family will receive friends on Monday, one hour prior to the service at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Monday at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Pastor Mike Mayton officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Frederick County, Virginia.
