Blanche Montgomery Bordwine, 98, of Frederick County, Virginia died Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Amerisist Assisted Living.
Mrs. Bordwine was born in 1918 in Saltville, Virginia, the daughter of the late Henry C. and Nellie K. Montgomery. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, shopping for antiques, and working crossword puzzles.
Her husband, Clyde Benton Bordwine, whom she married on December 6, 1937 in Marion, Virginia preceded her in death on April 26, 2000.
Surviving is a daughter, Joan Bly (John) of Stephens City, Virginia; sons, Chris Bordwine (Janet) of Winchester, Virginia and Bill Bordwine (Carol) of Wilmington, North Carolina; grandchildren, Erin Bly of Lynchburg, Virginia and Jacob Bly of Stephens City, Virginia; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mrs. Bordwine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Dixie “Tom” McElraft, Delaphine Dye, and Lessie Henderson; and brothers, Harry and Henry Montgomery.
Blanche’s family would like to express a special thank you to the entire staff at Amerisist and Blue Ridge Hospice for the kind, compassionate, and loving care shown to her through the years.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with a memorial service following at 2:00 p.m. with Minister Patrick McCary officiating.
