Betty Jane Triplett, 93 of Winchester, VA, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Martinsburg Healthcare Center.
Betty was born in 1932 in Frederick County, VA the daughter of the late Charles Franklin Shull and Mary Frances (Hillyard) Sanders. She attended Handley High School. Betty worked for Pingley Carper Cleaners, Steamway Quality Cleaning, Howard Johnson Restaurant and then retired in 2000 after 25 years of service for Montgomery Ward Department Store. She is a former member of Hebron Baptist Church in Gore and was currently attending Green Valley Baptist Church in Middletown where she enjoyed volunteering.
Betty was a member of the Moose Club in Strasburg, the Ladies Canasta Club in Stephens City and president of the Middletown Gadabouts. She was past president of the Middletown Lions Club and also a past member of the Winchester Moose Club #1283, Eagles Club and Winchester Elks.
She married John B. “Johnny T” Triplett, Jr. on August 12, 1950, and he preceded her in death in 1989.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Julie T. Seabright (Gary); son, John B. Triplett III (Lisa); grandchildren, Julie “Beth”, Ryan (Tammy), Jeremy, Stacy, and Cory; great-grandchildren, Bradley, Brooklyn, and Amber; great great-grandchildren, Ashley, McKinley, Gianna, Peyton, Bryson, Layla, and Lainey.
In addition to her parents and husband, Betty is preceded in death by her daughter, Sheridan “Sherry” Triplett; twin sons, Gary W., and Larry A. Triplett; stepfather, Clarence W. Sanders and her brother, Charles Franklin Shull, Jr.
A visitation will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025, from 4pm to 6pm at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Interment will be private.
