Beth Melinda Smith, 81 of Stephens City, VA, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Winchester Medical Center.

Beth was born in 1943 in Marshall, MI, the daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy Cook. She was a graduate of Marshall High School in Michigan. She was part of a group of friends that regularly got together to play Mahjong. Beth enjoyed crafting, sewing and quilting. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and going to her grandchildren’s events.

She married Kenneth Larry Smith on March 2, 1963, in Marshall, MI and he preceded her in death on February 10, 1999.

Beth is survived by her sons, Todd Smith of Strasburg, VA, Mark Smith (Marsha) of Leesburg, VA and Curtis Smith (Carrie) of Manassas, VA; grandchildren, Kelsey, Sydney, Braden, Colin, Trevor, Megan and Sarah; sisters, Jane Cook, Julie Cook Hotrum and brothers, Chad, Charles, Bart and Hal Cook.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, from 1pm to 3pm with a service to be conducted at 3pm all at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, Winchester, VA. Interment will be held in the future at Arlington National Cemetery.

I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Beth Smith. She was a kind and generous lady who touched the lives of so many, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth. My heartfelt condolences go out to Kelsey, Todd, and the entire family during this difficult time.

Rest in peace my friend, you will be missed. Glad we had a few fun trips together. I wish you could have stayed longer but that's me being selfish. I know you are in heaven watching over your family.

It is so sad to know that I will not have anymore phone calls from Beth. We have been friends aince we were babies as our parents were friends. Beth was a very loving mother and Grandmother!My heart goes out to her boys. Todd took good care of his Mom. Beth loved going to watch her Grandkids playing their sports. I will miss her very much RIP

My dad, Sam, was so happy to be able to spend some time with Beth while she was home this past summer. My deepest sympathy to the Smith family and friends.

Beth will be missed by so many people. Especially all of her grandkids. When they were playing games Beth was always there to support them. She will now be watching them from above.
