Bessie M. Linaburg
Bessie M. Ruble Linaburg, 89, of Winchester, Virginia, died Thursday, June 7, 2012, in a local nursing facility.
Mrs. Linaburg was born in 1923, in Gainesboro, Virginia, the daughter of the late Lawrence H. and Nannie V. Ruble. After graduating from Gainesboro High School in 1940, she moved to Arlington, Virginia, where she met her late husband Allen Boyd Linaburg. They married on January 27, 1943, in Washington D.C.
Mrs. Linaburg lived in Vienna, Virginia, where she was employed by the Fairfax School System in food management. She and her husband returned to Winchester in 1982. Mr. Linaburg died on September 7, 1994. Mrs. Linaburg was a member of the Round Hill United Methodist Church.
Surviving is her daughter, Sandra Harmon and husband, Jerry, of Germantown, Tennessee; her son, Wayne Linaburg of White Post, Virginia; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and her sister, Marlene Luttrell of Winchester, Virginia.
Two sisters, Frances McKeever and Mary DeHaven and two brothers, Samuel Ruble, Sr. and Clarendon Ruble, as well as one daughter-in-law Gloria Linaburg preceded her in death.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 on Tuesday, at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel with Reverend Anthony Wadsworth and Reverend William Withers officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Frederick County, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Dwight DeHaven, Richard Heishman, Brad Luttrell, Fred Ruble, Howard Ruble, and Warren Ruble.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, prior to the service, from 12:00-2:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
