Bernard Edmond Ballard, 73, of Warren County, Virginia, died Monday, May 25, 2015, at his home.
Mr. Ballard was born in 1942, in Mammoth, West Virginia, the son of the late William and Agnes Ballard. He was a residential construction worker and of the Pentecostal Faith, where he was a former Deacon. Bernard was an avid outdoorsman and loved to go hunting and fishing. He was a gun collector, family man, and a great husband, father and grandfather. He touched the lives of a lot of people, and made friends with just about anybody he talked to.
He married Patty Chapman on July 6, 1981, in Vienna, Virginia.
Surviving with his wife are his daughters, Debra Ballard Breeding (Shawn) of Linden, Virginia, Deanna Smith Ballard, Brittany Nicole Smith, both of Fredericksburg, Lisa Ballard of North Carolina, Penny Ballard of Front Royal; sons, Alan Smith Ballard of Marshall, Virginia, Lee Ballard of Front Royal; grandchildren, Ashleigh L. Smith Ballard, Savannah Lee Breeding, Rebekah Breeding, Catherine Breeding; great grandchildren Arianna Jade Smith-Barrientos; sisters, Jane, Nellie and Kay; and brothers, Harry, Billy and Jerry Alan.
Bernard was preceded in death by three children, James Andrew Ballard, Teresa Ballard and Michael Wayne Ballard; a sister, Nina and brothers, Albert, Richard and Frank.
