Barbara Marie Dean, 79 of Berryville, VA, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center.
Barb was born in 1945 in Coatesville, PA, the daughter of the late Joseph and Julia DiPasquale. Barb was a graduate of St. Matthews High School, Class of 1963 and went on to earn her associate degree in nursing from Sacred Heart School of Nursing in PA. In her early years she worked as a medical surgical nurse at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, NJ before becoming a full-time Mom. Barb was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church as well as St. Bridget of Ireland Catholic Church. She was very active in her church, was in a prayer group and enjoyed reciting the rosary. Barb volunteered at Winchester Medical Center. Barb loved watching football, baseball, and golf. She enjoyed cooking, listening to music (she loved the oldies) and most especially loved spending time with her, children, grandchildren, and the rest of her loving family.
She married Kenneth Thomas “Tom” Dean, Jr. on February 8, 1975, at Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church in Long Valley, NJ. He preceded her in death on May 6, 2019.
Barb is survived by her daughter, Beth Windsor (Scott) of Winchester, VA; sons, TK Dean (Sarah) of Hollidaysburg, PA, Adam Dean (Lisa) of Ashburn, VA; grandchildren, Greg Windsor, Julie Windsor, Addison Dean, Tyler Dean, Matthew Dean and Kathryn Dean; sisters, Diane O’Neil of Ocala, FL, Linda Maggio of Ambler, PA, Marie Maharty of King of Prussia, PA, Sue Kenny of Conshohocken, PA, brother, David DiPasquale of Doylestown, PA and numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Barb is preceded in death by her brothers, Ron, and Joseph “Skipper” DiPasquale.
A visitation will be held at 10:30am for those wanting to attend with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:30am on Friday, November 7, 2025, all held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, with Rev. Bjorn C. Lundberg celebrating her mass. Interment will follow at Mount Hebron Cemetery. Following the burial a celbration of life luncheon will be held.
