Barbara J. Thomas, 73, of Strasburg, Virginia, died Monday, June 13, 2016 at Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. Thomas was born in Waynesboro, Virginia in 1942, the daughter of the late Traff and Ethel Rankin. She was a production line worker for South Eastern Container in Winchester, VA, as well as working for Capital Records in Winchester, VA. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Front Royal, VA.
Mrs. Thomas is survived by daughter, Cathy Reynolds (Daniel), Strasburg, VA; step-daughters, Susan Winters, Alexandria, VA, Bonnie Thomas, Alexandria, VA, and Margaret Taylor, of Arizona; sons, Mark Thomas (Amanda), Strasburg, VA and Matthew Thomas (Connie), Front Royal, VA; step-son, Michael Thomas, Alexandria, VA; eight grandchildren, Robert Thomas, Grace Reynolds, Luke Pingley, Joseph Pingley, Faith Reynolds, Alexis Thomas, Abigail Thomas, and Annalee Thomas; two great-grandchildren; not to exclude numerous step-grandchildren that she loved very much, sister, Peggy Morris, of Crimora, VA; brother, Homer Rankin, Wyoming, IL.
Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Thomas; a step-daughter and step-son; two sisters and two brothers.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 18, 2016 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
A service will be held at 2:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Pastor Butch Hammond officiating. Interment will follow at Shenandoah Memorial Park.
