Barbara Ann Tavenner Chapin, 61, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Sunday, January 10, 2015, at her home.

Ms. Chapin was born in 1954, in Leesburg, Virginia, the daughter of the late Donald L. “Buck” and Ann Mae Tavenner. She was a graduate of Clarke County High School. Mrs. Chapin was employed in the housekeeping department of AE Com.

Her husband, Charles Chapin, preceded her in death.

Surviving is her son, Brian Thomas Tavenner and wife, Stephanie, of Winchester, Virginia; Fiancé, Brian Valentine; granddaughter, Kaylynn Diane Tavenner; sisters, Susan Braithwaite of Berryville, Virginia; brothers, Donald Tavenner of Winchester, Virginia and David Tavenner of Berryville, Virginia.

Ms. Chapin enjoyed dirt track racing.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 9:00-11:00 AM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Celebrant Timothy Grum officiating. Interment will be private.

Brian, I am so sorry to learn of your Mother's death. Such a sweet, dear person. You and your family have our deepest sympathy, love and prayers.

To the family so sorry for your loss. Barbara was a good woman, I knew her from work and she was always the sweetest.

We were so sorry to hear about Barbara's passing. She was such a kind lady. We enjoyed many bowling weekends with her and her fiancee, Brian. Our thoughts are with her family at this difficult time.

Barb, you will be greatly missed. I have lots of great memories working with you at American Woodmark. I'll always remember the time you and Billy and I went to the Beach together that time. We laughed so hard we cried.I'll keep you and your whole family in my prayers.
