Barbara Ann Baker Hoover, 72, of Front Royal, Virginia died Thursday, October 1, 2015, at Blue Ridge Hospice Residential Care Center surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Hoover was born in 1943, in Otsego, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Albert Wheeler Baker and Eula Marie Blankenship. She was a former member of the Shenandoah Farms Fire and Rescue Company #6 where she served as secretary, photographer and ambulance driver. She was also qualified to drive an engine. She enjoyed bowling where she met her husband, Don. She also enjoyed Golden Oldies (1950’s) Music. Mrs. Hoover was a homemaker.
She married Donald Leon Hoover on May 10 1980, in Fairfax, Virginia.
Surviving with her husband are two daughters, Lisa Ann Bolden (Scott), Aleta Kathryn Hoover (Linda Kitchen); two sons, Guy Edward Staats and Robert Edward Hoover; three grandchildren, Brandie Marie Branzelle, Deanna Alecia Marie Jenkins, Philip Robert Brian Jenkins; three great grandchildren, Madison Elizabeth Winner, Ethan Richard Donald Winner, Vincent Parker Massullo and her sister, Jo Blankenship Gearheart (John).
She loved her family and enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Since Barbara’s wishes were to be cremated, there will be no viewing or service. Friends and family are invited and encouraged to visit Don at their home. A celebration of life will be planned in the near future.
