Audra P. Kalafat
Audra Carla Polhamus Kalafat, 81, of Winchester, Virginia, died Wednesday, October 5, 2011, in her home, surrounded by loving family and friends.
Mrs. Kalafat was born in 1930, in Winchester, Virginia, the daughter of the late Charles and Nina Polhamus. She was a homemaker and a professional hair stylist. After working for numerous hair salons, she owned and operated the DuFour Beauty Shop until her retirement. Mrs. Kalafat was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Winchester, and a member of the Winchester Moose Lodge #1283 and Winchester Eagles Aerie 824. John Handley High School was her Alma Mater.
She married Frank L. Kalafat on December 27, 1947, in Winchester, Virginia. He preceded her in death in February, 2009.
Surviving is daughter, Ann Grim, a special daughter, Katherine M. Snell, both of Winchester, Virginia; three grandsons, Robert H. “Robbie” Hodges, Jr., of Inwood, West Virginia, Lee Hodges of Strasburg, Virginia and Chip Hodges of Front Royal, Virginia; three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Her daughter, Vickie K. Hodges, grandson, Brandon J. “BJ” Hodges, two sisters and one brother, preceded her in death.
All services with Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel will be private.
