Arbelia Hoover Copenhaver, 85, of Stephens City, Virginia, died Sunday, November 15, 2009 in her home.

Mrs. Copenhaver was born in 1924, in Brandywine, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Morgan B. and Cleda P. Hoover. She was a retired Cashier with Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Virginia. She attended Relief United Methodist Church in Frederick County, Virginia.

Her husband, Gerald H. Copenhaver, whom she married on January 17, 1948, preceded her in death in May of 1981.

Surviving are two daughters, Phyllis Snider and her husband, Mark, of Stephens City, Virginia, Linda Barker of Fayetteville, North Carolina; three sons, Roger Copenhaver and his wife, Linda, of Strasburg, Virginia, Gerald E. Copenhaver and his wife, Frances, Daniel S. Copenhaver and his wife, Rhonda, all of Winchester, Virginia; thirteen grandchildren; thirty-one great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren.

Her daughter, Judy Nicholson, five sisters, and two brothers preceded her in death.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Reverend Mary Lock officiating. Interment will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Stephens City, Virginia.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
