Anna George

Anna Geraci George, 90, of Shenandoah County, Virginia died Monday, November 28, 2011 in a local nursing facility.

Mrs. George was born in 1921 in St. Louis, Missouri the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine Geraci. She was a retired hairdresser. Mrs. George was a member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Woodstock, Virginia and Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Winchester, Virginia. She was a graduate of American University, Washington D.C., where she received a Bachelor’s degree.

He husband, Henry George preceded her in death in 1971.

Surviving is her daughter Dianna Graham and her husband, William, of Middletown, Virginia; son, David George and wife, Elaine, of Leonia, New Jersey; and one granddaughter, Stephanie Graham; nieces and nephews, Richard Colsanti, Annette Moskop, Michael Moran, Robbie Moran, Jeanette Tucci, Anna Geraci and Josephine Geraci.

Her sister, Mary Moran and brother, Joseph Geraci preceded her in death

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at St. John Bosco Catholic Church with Reverend Wilhelm Ettner officiating. Interment will be in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse, New York.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Bosco Catholic Church, 315 North Main Street, Woodstock, Virginia, 22664.

Local arrangements are being handled by Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, Winchester, Virginia.

Among my fondest memories of growing up on Dale St. in Syracuse was spending time at the George home, which your mother made a welcome place for lunches, Christmas and birthday parties, and the occasional free haircut!
