My condolences to Ann's family; she was a sweet person and always had a smile. I met Ann years ago through the Frederick and Clarke County hiking programs, when she was usually accompanied by her friend Margaret Laise. We were on many hikes together, and I was impressed by her knowledge of wildflowers.

Ann's radiant spirit was an inspiration to me. She took such delight in nature on our Clarke County hikes. Her company was always refreshing, and I will continue to feel her presence. I must work at a Christmas Bird Count during her service, so I will count the birds in her honor, and greet them on her behalf.
