Like all of the people that love Anita;I also was so shocked and saddened by her passing.I know my life like countless others will never be the same; When I was injured; Anita and Dana although they could not be there; donated 500.00 dollars to one of my brothers to make the trip; so I would not have to face that time alone.Anita is also my baby sister; the one that shared my childhood days.no matter your own trials you are over come with grief;when you lose someone of Anita;s great heart Johnny Modglin with help from a friend

Anita "Nita" to most of us was my aunt by birth, more like a cousin growing up and as an adult, for a brief moment a sparkling friend. I had not seen Nita in 30 years, but when I did there was no awkwardness. I think it was more than being family that made being with her so easy. Most of you know her much better than I. You know of her great sence of humor and her fantastic laugh. You know her mind was as bright as her smile. She presented herself with grace and strength. I did get to spend a little time visiting with her and Dana in their home and in D.C. a couple of years ago. What I saw was a happy woman. Happy with her husband, her children, her home, her life. What more could we ask for? Till we meet again, Love Shelia

Although we didn't see each other or even talk often,I have always loved my baby sister. Anita was sweet, beautiful, generous and kind to everyone. She put others comfort and feelings above her own. During her illness she was remarkably brave and optimistic, not wanting anyone to feel sorry for her. During our visit in May she was upbeat and positive about life. I know she was a loving wife and mother and the world is a better place because she was here. Big brother - Rich.

Oh, the things we take for granted!! The memories I have of this beautiful lady will never die. Some of you have mentioned her laugh! It is one I will never forget and hear in my head as I look at her smiling face! I don't know why God called you home so early, but one thing is for sure, "Our loss is Heaven's gain" Whether we were having coffee once we got our babies on the bus to kindergarten, or working at Wayside Inn, she always had that gorgeous little laugh to share with everyone!! Anita, you will be missed by all!! Love you, girlie!! Dana, Mia and Nathanand families, I am praying for God to give you peace and comfort during this terrible time!! Joyce (Truslow) Keith

Dana, Mea, and Nate- i saw the obituary in yesterdays paper, and almost fell out of my chair with shock. My heart goes out to you and your families, and i am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. I personally havent seen any of you in years, but i remember Anita as being very vibrant, funny, and giving. And just looking at this photo, im reminded of her beauty and warmth. My most heartfelt condolences...to lose her so young...and i know theres nothing i can say or write to bring you comfort other than my heart is with you, and we will all see her again someday. With love..Marty Ramey (formerly Marty Thornton)

It's hard to lose a sister, that you love so dearly, who was so kind yet so strong no matter the circumstances, whose bravery we would all wish to possess when our time of passing arrives. Anita has a most loving family in Va. I know they will be strong and get through this devastating time. We will always have Anita in our hearts and on our minds, remembering her smiling face.
