Allen Todd Shifflett, 59, of Frederick County, Virginia passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Allen was born in 1960 in Winchester, Virginia, the son of the late Russell and June Shifflett. He attended James Wood High School. Allen was employed at Perry Engineering as a heavy equipment operator. He was an avid hunter and fisherman…..loved everything about the outdoors; enjoyed farming, metal detecting, antiquing, and road trips on Skyline Drive. Allen was a purveyor of practical jokes and one-liners….always had a quick-wit.
Surviving are daughters, Mary Virginia Shifflett of Newport News, Virginia and Bethany June Shifflett of Ft. Ashby, West Virginia; grandchildren, Connor Seth Jennings, Adalynn Ray Janik, and Owen James Janik; sisters, Karen Corrigan (Robin Cowherd) of Norfolk, Virginia, Donna Howard (Robert) of Holiday, Florida, and Laura Shifflett of Winchester, Virginia; brother, Larry Shifflett of Winchester, Virginia; and companion, Sandy Kanaan.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 6 pm to 8 pm on Tuesday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 am on Wednesday at Old Stone Church Cemetery, Frederick County, Virginia.
Serving as pallbearers will be Raymond Horton, Jerry Rowell, Stan Zuckerman, Scott Milburn, David Brown, and Jamie Ritter.
The Shifflett family would like to extend their gratitude to the wonderful, caring people of Blue Ridge Hospice, especially to Erin and Dr. Landrio; and also to Debbie Greathouse, who lovingly aided Allen and his family.
