Alice Catherine Milburn

Alice C. Milburn

Alice Catherine Sirk Milburn, age 74, of Winchester, Virginia, died Sunday, March 11, 2012, in Blue Ridge Inpatient Care Center.

Mrs. Milburn was born in Charlestown, West Virginia, in 1937, the daughter of the late Robert William and Elsie May Sirk. She was employed in manufacturing at Capital Records for fifteen years. She later worked in housekeeping at Winchester Medical Center and finished her working career at Midwesco Filter Resources, where she retired in 2003. She attended Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Stephenson, Virginia.

Her former husband, Max Grover “Dude” Milburn preceded her in death on November 30, 2006.

Surviving are her children, Cindy Larrick of Gainesboro, Virginia, Michael Milburn and Jeffrey Milburn, both of Winchester, Virginia, and Donald Milburn of Stephenson, Virginia; four grandchildren, Missy Johnson, Bryan Larrick, Mandy Milburn, and Corey Milburn; six great grandchildren; a sister, Debbie Walker of Winchester, Virginia, and three brothers, Robert Sirk of Frederick County, Virginia, Paul Sirk of Winchester, Virginia, and Pete Sirk of Ocklawaha, Florida. One brother, Richard Sirk, preceded her in death at a very young age.

A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at 11:00 AM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Pastor James Smith and Mr. Frankie Paige officiating. Interment will be private.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, March 13, 2012, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.
